William “Bill” Castiglione served the law enforcement community for over 31 years, 27 of them with the Hasbrouck Heights (NJ) Police Department. Over the course of his career, he rose to the rank of Captain of Detectives. In that capacity, he oversaw all administrative and investigative services within the department. Most of Bill’s career was spent in the Detective Bureau. He has investigated or has taken part in numerous investigations ranging from theft to homicide. While assigned to the Juvenile Bureau, he oversaw all law enforcement operations in both the public and private schools and was assigned as the School Resource Officer. As such, he assisted the schools’ administration with investigations for all crimes within the borough’s schools.
Prior to working with the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, he was employed by the Bergen County Prosecutors Office as a Narcotics Investigator for four years. During that time he was assigned to the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, in Newark, New Jersey. Bill has worked with numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies within the tri-state area.
He has also worked in the private sector and has overseen private security for numerous companies in the fashion industry along with a strategic alarm and camera surveillance equipment.
He served as President of the Policeman’s Benevolent Association and was awarded the prestigious Life Membership Award.
Bill served for 14 years as a School Board trustee and president in his local community. That experience has given him a thorough understanding of working within a limited government budget.
